What you will need: 

  1. Physical passport (with at least 6 months validity from the first date of arrival in Japan)
  2. Japanese visa application form. Must be computer typed and in all Capital letters. See also attached a sample of the form.
  3. 1 Recent Photograph (2”X 2”)
  4. 1 Copy of the Certificate for completion of registration to the ERFS system.
  5. Visa Authorization Disclaimer. Proxy info/section must stay blank. WEX Visas will fill it out.

*To obtain a Certificate for completion of registration to the ERFS system, a sponsoring organization located in Japan
(e.g., inviting/employing companies) needs to complete prescribed application through the Entrants Returnees
Follow-up System (ERFS). After the application, “Certificate for completion of Registration to the ERFS system (受付
済証:Uketsukezumisho)” will be issued. Further information for receiving organizations can be found here.

Extra documents for non-U.S. passport holders.

  1. U.S. Visa (e.g., Green Card) *If you are not a U.S. citizen.
  2. Letter of Invitation & Written Pledge filled by an inviter that resides in Japan (either in Japanese or in English). 

*Inviter must reside in Japan.
*You can bring a copy (printed paper), no signature required. You do not need to submit a written pledge.
*Please write full information of your inviter; do not write “same as guarantor” on a section of “Inviting person.”

3. Letter of guarantee (Japanese or English) filled by an guarantee resides in Japan (either in Japanese or in
English) *You can bring a copy (printed paper), no signature required.

4. Daily Itinerary in Japan

5. Proof of sufficient fund for travel (a copy of your most recent one-month Bank statement).
