For a U.S. citizen requesting a Kenya Visa, we will need the following (if you are not a U.S. citizen, click here – VISA INFO to find the proper requirements):
Kenya Tourist Visa Documents:
- U.S. Passport – You must provide your signed passport. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months and have a blank page available.
- Kenya Visa Application Form – click here, then please follow the “Continue with Online Application” link at the bottom of the instructions to complete the online application form. Then complete, print and sign the online visa application form.
- Washington Express Visas Visa Request Form – filled out completely.
- Photographs – Please provide 2 (two) color, passport size photos. The photographs must be printed on photo paper, must be 2″ by 2″ and have a white background, and must have been taken in the last 6 months.
- Copy of your airline ticket or travel agent itinerary.
Kenya Business Visa Documents:
- U.S. Passport – You must provide your signed passport. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months and have a blank page available.

- Washington Express Visas Visa Request Form – filled out completely.

- A business letter of introduction from your company (on company letterhead) addressed to the Embassy of Kenya stating the purpose of travel, the name and contact of the company in Kenya you’re visiting, and a financial guarantee for all of your expenses. - Copy of your airline ticket or travel agent itinerary.

Additional Information:
- Passport and/or passport replacing documents must be valid for at least 6 months on arrival.
Visa Issuance:
- On arrival: if required, to nationals of U.S.A. for a stay of max. 3 months. Passport must contain at least one blank page for visa endorsement. For details, click here

Additional Information:
- Passports and passport replacing documents must be in good condition. Non-compliance may result in inadmission.
- All visitors must hold return/onward tickets and all documents required for next destination and sufficient funds for maintenance of at least USD 500.-.
Health Information:
Vaccination against Yellow Fever, if arriving in Kenya within 6 days after leaving or transiting countries with infected areas.
Exempt from Yellow Fever vaccination:
- Children under 1 year.
- Those not leaving the airport in Kenya.
- Those not leaving the airport in the countries concerned.
Warning:
- Passengers not holding valid Yellow Fever certificate, if required, are subject to quarantine.
Recommended:
- Vaccination against Yellow Fever for all passengers visiting any area outside the main cities in Kenya.
- Malaria prophylaxis. Malaria risk – mainly in the malignant (P. falciparum) form – exists throughout the year in the whole country. There is normally little risk in the city of Nairobi and in the highlands (above 2500 m.) of Central, Rift Valley, Eastern, Nyanza and Western Provinces. P. falciparum highly resistant to chloroquine and resistant to sulfadoxine/pyrimethamine reported. Recommended prevention:
