Your documents can either be picked up and returned directly to your office, or you can send them to us via FedEx, UPS, etc. to our Processing Office.

*Please note, effective October 1, 2012, due to India Embassy restrictions we can only process Visas and Documents for residents living within the Washington D.C. jurisdiction (Bermuda, Delaware, District of Columbia, Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia).  The Embassy no longer permits cross-jurisdictional processing.

Please note that we have no affiliation with any government embassy or agency.

India Tourist Visa Documents:

  • U.S. Passport – You must provide your signed passport. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months and have two blank adjacent pages available.  Amendment pages are not acceptable for visa stamps.
  • India Visa Application Form – click here.  After the application is completed, please print and sign both pages of the application. Applications must be printed one sided, two sided printed applications will not be accepted.
  • Additional Particulars Form – filled out completely. Answers should either be YES or NONE. Please do not answer a question with N/A.  Your application may be rejected if this format is not followed.
  • Washington Express Visas Visa Request Form– filled out completely.
  • Photographs* – Please provide two (2) color, passport size photos. The photographs must be printed on photo paper, must be 2″ by 2″ and have a white background, and  must have been taken in the last 6 months.  *Effective immediately, applicants are no longer allowed to wear glasses in the photographs.
  • Proof of Address – please provide a photocopy of your proof of residence/address that matches the address on the visa application exactly.  Acceptable forms are a photocopy of your state issued ID (Drivers License or ID), a major utility bill (Water, Gas, Electric, Sewage), or a copy of your lease that has both the landlord and tenant signatures on it.
  • Copy of your airline ticket or travel agent itinerary.
  • Copy of your Passport information page.

India Business Visa Documents:

  • U.S. Passport – You must provide your signed passport. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months and have two blank adjacent pages available.  Amendment pages are not acceptable for visa stamps.

  • Letter of Invitation on company letterhead from the company in India sponsoring your stay. Letter must include the nature of business, duration of stay, the validity of visa applied for 1 Year, 5 Year or 10 Year, places and organizations to be visited during the applicant’s stay. Please see Sample Invitation Letter for an example of this document. *Invitation letter must be in the exact format shown in the above Sample or they will be rejected.
  • Introduction letter on company letterhead from the company in the USA stating expenses will be paid for by the company and indicating the nature of the applicant’s business, duration of stay, the validity of visa being applied for, places and organizations to be visited during their stay. Please see Sample Introduction Letter for an example of this document. *Introduction letter must be in the exact format shown in the above Sample or they will be rejected.
  • Washington Express Visas Visa Request Form – filled out completely.

Visa required, except for those holding a PIO (Person of Indian Origin) card. Note: the PIO must not be confused with the Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card (SEE NOTE 35024) .

– Holders of multiple entry Tourist Visas (visa type code “T”), with a validity ranging from above 3 months and up to 10 years, are required to have at least 2 months between visits. For details, click here
– Individual Tourists requiring visas should preferably apply for a tourist visa and not for an ordinary visa, to avoid problems on departure. For details, click here

– Valid visas in expired passports are still acceptable, provided accompanied by a valid passport of the same nationality of the expired passport.

– Restricted Areas:

Warning:
– Non-compliance with the entry/transit regulations will result in fines for the carrier and deportation of passenger to point of origin on the same or first available flight.

Health Information:

Vaccination against Yellow Fever is required (SEE NOTE 6268), if arriving within 6 days after leaving or transiting countries with infected areas or endemic areas or Zambia.

NOTE 6268: Persons without valid Yellow Fever certificate – if required – are subject to quarantine for max. 6 days. If such persons refuse to pay the costs involved, the transporting carrier will be charged.

Exempt from Yellow Fever vaccination:

– Except for passengers transiting India by the same aircraft.

– Exempt are all children under 6 months.
Recommended:
– Malaria prophylaxis. Malaria risk exists throughout the year in the whole country below 2000 m. (with 40% to 50% of cases due to P. falciparum). There is no transmission in parts of the states of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Sikkim.   Highly chloroquine and sulfadoxine-pyrimethamine-resistant P. falciparum reported.
