For a U.S. citizen requesting an Australian Visa, we will need the following (if you are not a U.S. citizen, click here – VISA INFO to find the proper requirements):
Australian Tourist Visa Documents:
- U.S. Passport – You must provide your signed passport. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months and have a blank page available.
- Australia Visa Application Form – Please provide a completed visa application form; click here for a .pdf of the tourist visa application (48). Because the application changes on occasion, we’ve also provided a link to the Australian Embassy website so you may get the most recent version directly from the Embassy website. The application form must be filled out completely and have answers for all fields. It must display your full name as appears in your passport, and it must be signed.
- Washington Express Visas Visa Request Form - filled out completely.
- Photograph – Please provide one color, passport size photo. The photograph must be printed on photo paper, it must be 2″ by 2″ and have a white background, and it must have been taken in the last 6 months.
- Proof of sufficient financial funds (either your latest bank statement or a letter from your bank).
- Letter addressed to the Embassy of Australia stating the purpose of your vist, details of your intended activities, accomodation information, contact information, and your dates of travel.
- Copy of your airline ticket or travel agent itinerary.
- If you are employed, a letter from your employer stating you are on vaction leave and date of expected return to your company.
- Evidence of Medical Insurance is recommended.
Australian Business Visa Documents:
- U.S. Passport – You must provide your signed passport. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months and have a blank page available.

- Washington Express Visas Visa Request Form – filled out completely.

- A business letter of introduction from your company (on company letterhead) addressed to the Embassy of Australia stating the purpose of travel, the name and contact of the company in Australia you’re visiting, and a financial guarantee for all of your expenses. - Copy of your airline ticket or travel agent itinerary.

Visa Issuance:
- Prior to arrival: Electronic Tourist Visa (e676): if such a visa is granted, the visa holder does not require a visa in his/her passport. This system is different from the ETA.
The following passengers can apply for a tourist visa on the Internet (http://www.immi.gov.au) prior to travel:

Health Information
Australia (AU)Vaccination against Yellow Fever required (SEE NOTE 630) if arriving within 6 days after leaving or transiting countries with infected areas.
NOTE 630: Persons without a valid yellow fever certificate –if required – are subject to quarantine surveillance for a period expiring 6 days after leaving an infected area. They will be interviewed on their arrival by officers from the Australian Quarantine Inspection Service (AQIS) and will only be permitted to enter Australia if they agree in writing to notify the health authorities if they develop any symptom of yellow fever infection. Any person who is suspected or confirmed as having yellow fever may be placed under quarantine and provided with supportive treatment in a suitable medical facility. Quarantine costs will be charged to the delivering carrier who violates regulations. Doubtful cases should be referred to the Australian Department of Community Services and Health or one of its Medical Officers in London or other European capitals. Exempt from Yellow Fever vaccination:
- Transit passengers not leaving the airport.
- Children under 1 year.
- Not required for those not leaving the airport in the countries concerned.
Warning:
- Passengers suspected of suffering from a quarantinable disease may be also subject to isolation in a quarantine station.
